Raw dog food company ProDog Raw is looking for 10 people to take part in the day-long study. It is investigating whether looking at pictures of puppies can alleviate stress levels. Each candidate will be paid £20 an hour to wear a heart rate monitor and look at pictures of dogs as they go about their day, except taking hourly breaks to look at a series of pre-prepared dog images.
The heart rate data will be collected and analysed by a doctor to identify any key findings.
Participants are required to have no underlying health conditions which may affect their heart rate including high blood pressure or arrhythmia.
Applicants should ideally have a desk-based job where they won’t be doing manual work or activities that may increase their heart rate.
People interested in taking part must be between 18 and 60-years-old, use social media, and have access to a device where they can use the internet.
“We saw this as a big opportunity to shed some light on the subject and are excited to see the results, especially when so many people are struggling during these difficult times.
“If you are interested in taking a couple of minutes here and there out of your day to look at puppy pictures and get paid to do so, please apply!”
ProDog Raw will be picking 10 successful candidates by mid-April, conducting the study at the beginning of May.
