Barcelona’s brilliant XI if Joan Laporta signs four Mino Raiola clients this summer

Barcelona want to sign Erling Haaland. And, now, reports have suggested they also want to land Mino Raiola clients Stefan De Vrij, Matthijs de Ligt and Paul Pogba. So Express Sport will now take a look at how the Catalan giants could line up if all four of their targets arrive in this summer’s transfer window.

Goalkeeper: Ter Stegen

It’s been a difficult season for Barcelona but, in recent times, they appear to have turned a corner.

And that will be relieving news for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who has continued to shine despite the club’s difficulties at times this term

The Germany international has managed an impressive 10 clean sheets from 23 La Liga matches this term.

Defence: Pique, De Ligt, De Vrij

Barcelona are interested in snapping up Stefan De Vrij, who has done well at Inter Milan – helping them to the top of the Serie A table.

And they’re also admirers of his compatriot, De Ligt.

The Dutchman was wanted by Barcelona back in the summer transfer window of 2019 but, on that occasion, he opted to join Juventus instead.

That was a blow but, with Juventus potentially facing a season outside of the Champions League, De Ligt could find himself on the market.

And with both De Ligt and De Vrij playing under Ronald Koeman at international level, they could line up alongside Gerard Pique in a back three.

Midfield: Dest, De Jong, Pogba, Alba

We’re going with a 3-4-3 formation for this line up, with Koeman favouring that system throughout his Barcelona reign.

And with Pogba on Barcelona’s radar again, the Manchester United star would certainly improve the Catalan giants’ midfield.

Pogba would arguably the ideal upgrade on Sergio Busquets, whose performances have waned as he enters the twilight years of his career.

Alongside him would likely be Frenkie de Jong.

And, on either flank, Barcelona could deploy Sergio Dest and Jordi Alba in wing-back roles.

Forwards: Messi, Fati, Haaland

Every club on the planet would love to sign Erling Haaland, who has been in sensational form for Borussia Dortmund over the last 16 months.

And, if he signs, he’d walk into the side in the No 9 position.

Barcelona’s finances have been hit hard by the pandemic but they’re still in the frame to sign the Norwegian regardless, who has scored 31 goals in the Champions League and Bundesliga combined this term.

His partner in crime, Lionel Messi, could then play on the right.

And, on the left, Ansu Fati will likely get plenty of game time once he recovers from injury.

Koeman played down Haaland chances

Speaking in March, Koeman played down talk of Barcelona potentially signing Haaland at the end of the season.

“Haaland? This is not a time to talk about a player who is not ours out of respect for his club,” the Barca boss told a press conference.

“There is talk of signings but I don’t like it and I need to focus on tomorrow’s game and the players we have.

“We’ll talk in the next few weeks on where we can improve but I will not respond to players who are not ours.”

Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also keen on the 20-year-old.
