Elvis Presley: What The King and Lisa Marie did in the Jungle Room shared by Graceland

Without doubt, the most famous space inside Elvis Presley’s home of Graceland is The Jungle Room. Since 1982, fans have been able to walk through the unique area with furniture The King’s father Vernon called “awful”. Nevertheless, Elvis and his daughter Lisa Marie enjoyed their time in the Hawaii-inspired room and now Graceland have shared what they liked to do there. recently took part in a virtual live tour of the Graceland mansion, which was expertly guided by on-site archivist Angie Marchese.

First off, she revealed: “Lisa used to take her naps there in the large chair, which was her favourite napping place.”

Fans will know the wide chair in the corner that sometimes has a teddy bear and guitar sitting on it.

As for Elvis Presley, he would eat his breakfast on the corner of the sofa just opposite there.

When recording, TCB band members like guitarist James Burton would wait for Elvis.

The King would then head downstairs to The Jungle Room to start the sessions around 2am.

Sometimes Elvis would interrupt the recordings in great displays of generosity.

Occasionally The King would clean out his closet and give everyone some of his clothes.

Interestingly, Elvis never called the Jungle Room by its name despite purchasing the Polynesian-inspired furniture himself in 1974.

Instead, The King simply called the famous space “the den”.

Next year sees the release of the Elvis movie biopic, which has been shooting in Australia.

Graceland has been recreated on set there, so hopefully, the Jungle Room will show up in the movie.
