Catriona Matthew rules out third Solheim Cup captaincy stint after back-to-back wins

During her time on the playing quota, the Scot secured an impressive 22 points for her team across the nine events, leaving her third in the all-time European points list.

As a result, the 51-year-old said that some of the best times of her life have been spent playing with, and captaining her European colleagues but revealed it was now up to someone else to take charge in two years’ time.

She commented: “I was lucky enough to play in nine and I’ve captained two, and I’ve had a fantastic time. It’s the best week I’ve had every two years, and to have been involved with it now for over 20 years, I’m sure I’ll be there watching, but it’s someone else’s turn.”
